Quite a costly thingLian Li has announced that their motorized DK-05 desk is finally available for a rather substantial $2099.99 US. The desk features height adjustments from 69cm all the way up to 118cm, which would allow for using it as a standing desk. In typical Lian Li fashion the desk is made from aluminum and it comes with a tempered glass panel.
NVIDIA brings more professional featuresWith their Vega Frontier Edition AMD didn’t manage to win back the performance crown in the gaming segment, however the Vega FE offers interesting features for professionals. Thanks to AMD XConnect this card can be used with notebooks in combination with an external enclosure. In an effort to keep up with AMD regarding feature like the ones just mentioned NVIDIA decided to come up with new drivers.
Three SKUsTwo reference modelsA few days ago, AMD has finally released their RX Vega graphics cards, revealing a cooler design that is similar to the one that can be found on the RX Vega Frontier Edition. The official name of this card is Vega 64, where the number derives from the core clusters count the chip comes with. Following the launch, many partners are now showing their models. SAPPHIRE for instance is launching three different versions of the Radeon Vega 64.

Huge ultra wide displaySamsung has expanded its curved monitor lineup with a new monitor featuring a 49-inch panel. The monitor is based on a rather unusual 3840 x 1080 resolution and a massive 1800R curved display. Furthermore the display supports AMD FreeSync 2 which allows the panel to communicate with your PC sharing colour space information, brightness values apart from the variable refresh rate information.

First Gigabyte X399 motherboardDuring Capsaicin 2017, Gigabyte has shown an upcoming AMD X399 motherboard. The Aorus Gaming 7 is a high-end motherboard which features several PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots. Furthermore the motherboard sports a good amount of SATA-III ports and M.2 slots. In addition each M.2 slot comes with a M.2 heatsink.

Unlike the Gaming Pro Carbon based on the Z270 chipset, this upcoming model belongs to the vendor’s high-end products. It packs several M.2 and PCIe slots.

Pretty high single core clocks16 core and 32 thread madnessIt appears that the Capsaicin SIGGRAPH 2017 was quite an event with AMD not just showing news parts but also demonstrating them. On the overclocking side of things our good friend Tudor “Monstru” Badica from Lab501 appears to have had quite some “monstrous” fun overclocking on of the Ryzen Threadripper bad boys to 5.2 GHz, destroying some Cinebench scores.

A fairly substantial updateAMD today released the latest update to their Radeon GPU drivers, the Crimson ReLive Edition 17.7.2. In the shape of a larger update they’ll bring a few new features. Furthermore - as usual - these drivers are supposed to help increase the performance and efficiency of AMD cards and on top of that AMD has also fixed some issues related to input latency.
EagleTree Capital now holds the majority of sharesLast week, rumors of a potential buyout regarding Corsair started to emerge. It appeared that the investment company "EagleTree" had shown interest in a major part of Corsair’s privately owned shares. Meanwhile the deal has been confirmed by Corsair themselves with EagleTree Capital buying a majority of the shares for $525 US million.
