Samsung launches 49-inch gaming monitor

Samsung has expanded its curved monitor lineup with a new monitor featuring a 49-inch panel. The monitor is based on a rather unusual 3840 x 1080 resolution and a massive 1800R curved display. Furthermore the display supports AMD FreeSync 2 which allows the panel to communicate with your PC sharing colour space information, brightness values apart from the variable refresh rate information.



The Samsung C49HG90 comes with a huge 49-inch panel and quite an uncommon 32:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 3840 x 1080 pixel. Apart from that there is an 1800R curvature, which is supposed to allow for an even more immersive experience, may you be gaming or watching a movie. The display supports 125% sRGB colour space and 95% of the DCI-PE colour space. Regarding the connectors, the C49HG90 comes with one DisplayPort, one Mini-DisplayPort and one HDMI connector. Furthermore there is audio in, a headphone port and a small two-port USB 3.0 hub.

The retail price for the C49HG90 QLED Gaming monitor is set to $1499 US. Furthermore Samsung is also going release the C32HG70 and the C27HG70 for $699 US and $599 US respectively.
