ASUS has unveiled the first cooling kit for AMD X399 motherboard which should improve the compatibility with the upcoming AMD Threadripper -WX processors. As you might know, the -WX processors are rated 250W TDP.
The ASUS ROG X399 Zenith Extreme motherboard features eight DDR4 DIMM slots and four full-sized PCIe slots. On the storage side we find a single U.2 port, one M.2 slot and six angled SATA ports. In addition, ASUS has used latest SupremeFX audio chip.
Since this motherboard belongs to the high-end series we find additional features like a debug display, support for USB 3.1 and a good mix of connectors at the I/O panel. In order to make it compatible with Threadripper -WX processors, ASUS has unviled a cooling kit designed for this motherboard.
The cooling kit contains a 4010 fan, fan bracket and a SOC heatsink. The cooling kit will be available in August 2018 and will not be bundled with the ASUS X399 ROG Zenith Extreme.
