Just a simple BIOS trick

It appears that the secret of unlocking BCLK on non-K Skylake CPUs is a simple BIOS trick that enables overclocking capabilities on those CPUs and Elmor has revealed a bit more details regarding it.

Saturday was a productive day

Last Saturday splmann and racoon303 met up in the ocaholic OC Lab once more and they've managed to come up with a few sweet new scores. splmann kept on pushing the i7-5960X we've already been talking about going for max clock and racoon303 had to get back a gold cup on XTU with the i5-6600K.

Still tweaking it

Our very own in-house reviewer and overclocker, Roger Tanner, got a rather sweet Intel Haswell-E Core i7-5960X CPU and while we are still testing it, it appears that the CPU is destined for some great results so expect to hear more about it soon.

Dhenzjhen unlocks BLCK on Core i3 6320

Today is a big day in overclocking community as one of overclockers posted benchmark results of the Core i3 6320 overclocked to 4.6GHz with 120MHz BCLK. Previously, overclocking was limited only to Intel K-series parts so this a big news for overclockers, suggesting that every Skylake CPU can be unlocked and overclocked.

Cheaper way to delid your favorite CPU

While Der8auer's Skylake Delid Die Mate is a high-end product there is apparently a cheaper way to delid your CPU safely, at least if you have access to a 3D printer.

Available at Caseking.de

We stumbled upon a picture which confirms that Der8auer's Delid Die Mate, which is a delidding tool, actually also works with Broadwell CPUs and also should be also available at Caseking.de as well as Overclockers.co.uk stores.

CPU delidding tool for Skylake

A well known overclocker and a dear friend of Ocaholic.ch, der8auer, has created a rather interesting and quite useful tool for delidding Skylake (and other) CPUs, the Delid Die Mate.

Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10 now allowed on Skylake

HWBOT.org has been keeping tabs on overclocking scores and records for quite some time and they are doing a hell of job in keeping things fair and today they have updated the general rules and individual Benchmark Validation Regulations allowing Skylake use on Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10.

In both PiFast and Cinebench R15 4xCPU

The Overclocking Knights, with a help from TaPaKaH as well as MSI and its hardware, earlier managed to break two new overclocking records, including the PiFast world record as well as Cinebench R15 4xCPU Global First Place, but Splave, who held the records earlier has managed to take them back.

With ROG Rampage V Extreme and Strix GTX 980 Ti

ASUS announced that Xtreme Addict, a well known overclocker from Poland, managed to break four new overclocking world records with ASUS ROG Rampage V Extreme motherboard and ASUS Strix GTX 980 Ti graphics card.

On ASUS Maximus VIII Hero motherboard

Der8auer, a well known name in the world of overclocking, has published a new video guide for Skylake CPU overclocking.

On ASUS hardware

Dancop, a well known German overclocker, managed to take three new overclocking world records at HWBOT by running on ASUS ROG Rampage V Extreme motherboard and ASUS Strix GTX 980 Ti graphics card, including Catzilla 720P 1xGPU, Catzilla 1440P 1xGPU and HWBOT Prime 8xCores.

With the same hardware

Just four days ago we wrote about the new world record in Unigne Heaven Xtreme benchmark set by Vince "K|NGP|N" Lucido, the same record has been broken again, again by K|NGP|N running on the same EVGA hardware.

Lam pushes it high on LN2

As if breaking the DDR4 memory record was not enough, Lam has also also broke the CPU record by pushing the Core i7-6700K to 6998.88MHz.

In the hands of Chi-Kui Lam

G.Skill's Ripjaws 4 DDR4 memory has just hit yet another record as Lam managed to push it to rather incredible 2450.8MHz.

Gets 18°C lower temperatures under load

It was just a matter of time before one of the extreme overclockers try to de-lid the Skylake in order to remove its IHS in order to get lower temperature, especially under LN2.

Seven world records and 17 global first places

With the official launch of Intel's 6th generation Core Skylake CPUs and Intel Z170 Express chipset motherboards it does not come as a surprise to see plenty of overclocking records, including 7 world records and 17 global first places, according to HWBOT.org.

EVGA GTX 980 Classified is impressive overclocker

According to the newest released screenshot, Vince "K|ngp|n" Lucido is closing in on 2.2GHz on the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Classified graphics card and while the result is still not validated, it is quite impressive to see how far the GM204 Maxwell GPU can be actually pushed.

K|NGP|N and elmor to blame

Both K|NGP|N and elmor are apparently taking their own GTX 980 graphics cards for an overclocking spin and have broken 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme score records by scoring 9415 and 9568 marks.
