HWBOT.org has been keeping tabs on overclocking scores and records for quite some time and they are doing a hell of job in keeping things fair and today they have updated the general rules and individual Benchmark Validation Regulations allowing Skylake use on Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10.
HWBOT.org released a new diagram which shows which OS, including Windows 8/8.1/10 and server equivalents is eligible for confirmed overclocking results and also explains the use of engineering hardware.
According to details, Skylake usage is now allowed on Windows 8, 8.1 and the Windows 10, while notebooks without base clock tuning capabilities are also eligible. The Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10 OS is now allowed for CPU-Z benchmarks, XTU, GPUPI, HWBOT X265 Benchmark, and 3DMark(*) while those same Windows OS versions are not allowed for benchmarks excluded from the list.
HWBOT.org has released a bit more details regarding the usage of engineering and unreleased hardware, while current Gen ES chips are allowed only for Elite, or in case of disabled points, old Gen ES chips are allowed for everyone and unreleased hardware is also allowed only for Elite. Both unreleased hardware and engineering sample hardware are not allowed in competitions.
