A 24.000 £ system

Overclockers UK is ready to start selling its 8Pack OrionX PC, which is an extreme system that is probably the most powerful pre-built PC on the planet as for now. It's also the most expensive costing a whopping 24'000£. With the 8Pack OrionX PC, Overclockers UK offer two systems in one inside a single - huge - chassis, with the chassis actually being the new Phanteks Enthoo Elite case.


MSI M.2 heat trap?

With the launch of the Intel 200-series chipset, MSI has revealed their M.2 Shield. To prove that it helps in decreasing temperatures they had Tom’s Hardware test exactly that. Meanwhile Steve Burke from Gamer’s Nexus has had a look at the same and he states that there is a chance that the M.2 Shield actually increases temperatures.

More game optimisations

Following the launch of AMD’s ReLive 17.1.1 Beta drivers there is already a new beta update available. This release should bring significant performance improvements to a few games as well as optimizations for Conan Exiles and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands beta.

Stock, 4mm and 10mm IHS

After the launch of Intel Kaby Lake we have seen many tool and test about the delidding process which looks mandatory if you want keep your CPU overclocked with reasonable temperatures. Although is pretty clear how to perform a delid, no one ever tested different IHS. Our Italian overclocking team member Franco “RULE” Valtulina has performed few test on our forum with the standard Intel IHS and two more made out copper.


During all Q2 2017

During the past months we have seen a decline on the price of DDR4 memory. Especially in the period from summer 2015 to summer 2016 the decrease was almost constant month over month. Lately, however, the prices have risen again and according to the latest rumors it will continue for few more months.


A new powerful GTX 1080

Gigabyte already has a wide portfolio when it comes to graphics cards but that didn’t stop them from launching yet another model. The new card belongs to the new premium AORUS line of graphics card which goes by the name "GeForce GTX 1080 AORUS Xtreme Edition" and it delivers solid performance.


Only quad core and eight core CPUs

Following the latest rumors, AMD will not show Ryzen CPU with six cores and six threads with the new lineup. This rumor suggests that AMD will be unable to partially deactivate their 4-core Zen unit which means that we will not see also dual core Ryzen CPUs.

Both soon available

The most interesting smartphones of 2017, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6, have finally been spotted. At the moment there are only few pictures showing the looks but apparently the most interesting thing to us is the performance. Especially the comparison of these two phones will be interesting since the Galaxy S8 is supposed to be equipped with a faster SoC than the LG G6.


Is there any difference?

If you are a PC enthusiast and you like building your own PC, at some point you will start asking yourself which thermal compound is the best for your gaming PC. KitGuru has put a nice comparison article together showing the temperatures with seven different thermal compounds on an Intel rig.


AMD Ryzen launch is pretty close

AMD has announced they’re going to hold a Webinar event that will take place on January 31st. This event is going to be streamed through Adobe Connect Meeting Room, while the host is James Prior, Channel Business Development Manager for AMD. According to latest reports, it looks like AMD will show AM4-based motherboards from ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI during the event.

AM4 X370 motherboards

Biostar has unveiled several AMD AM4 300-series motherboards during an event held in Taiwan. Although Biostar only showcased AMD X370 and B350 motherboards, they will release A320 chipset based products as well. Biostar is one of the first to show an almost entire AM4 lineup and we hope to see more details even from other companies.


From both NVIDIA and AMD

The graphics card is still the most important component in a gaming PC and they’re becoming significantly faster from generation to generation. In order to achieve higher framerates it is better usually better to spend more money on the graphics card instead of the CPU. When new graphics card hit the market, you will instantly find in-depth reviews but it's quite hard to find a comparison with their predecessors.
