During GDC 2017Through its “evenbrite” portal AMD has just announced that it will be holding a special live streaming event during the upcoming Game Developers Conference on February 28. Three different modelsAMD's Ryzen stock coolers have appeared online, showcasing their new cooler design. According to latest reports from HardwareBattle, two of them might use Intel-style push-pins and the third one comes with a different retention kit. The coolers need to be capable of removing either 65 or 95 Watts of TDP depending on the model.
In Passmark database and our own addedA few days ago a new set of benchmarks on AMD’s Ryzen CPUs have hit the surface and we shared the results in our forums. As reported on AnandTech forum and also on Videocardz, the CPU tested appears to have been an 8-core AMD R7 1700X. Only newer operating systems supportedAccording to latest reports and even confirmations from AMD itself there won’t be any drivers for Windows 7 regarding their upcoming Ryzen processors. AMD is only going support of Windows 10 as well as Windows 8.1. Apart from that it’s interesting to see that also Intel’s Kaby Lake processors won’t support Windows 7 anymore.
On Intel Optan DC P4800XIt looks like Intel is working heavily on their upcoming Optane solid state drives. According to the vendor the DC P4800X should offer 21 times the endurance compared to MLC NAND flash memory. All these new solid state drives are going to be based on the 3D X-Point to non volatile memory of which Intel is hoping that it’s going to replace a NAND flash.
Data center revenue grows significantlyIt looks like business is going exceptionally well for NVIDIA these days. Within one year the price of one share has gone up five fold. In 2017 the GPU developer was able to generate 2.2 Billion US-Dollar in revenue accounting for a net income of 655 Million US-Dollar.
Increased clock speedsAlso during their annual investors meeting Intel announced that are going to launch yet another Xeon E7 processor. This particular chip is going to be based on the Broadwell-EX architecture featuring 24 cores at the clock speed of 2.4 GHz. Apparently this being a Xeon E7 chip it’s going to be quite pricey retailing at 8898 US-Dollar a piece.
