MSI has now launched its Intel Z97 based Gaming series flagship motherboard, the Z97 Gaming 9 AC which will target high-end gaming market. The new Z97 Gaming 9 AC will join the earlier detailed Z97 Express based Gaming 3, Gaming 5 and Gaming 7 ATX form-factor motherboards.
Also based on a standard ATX form-factor, the new Z97 Gaming 9 AC motherboard packs quite a few features including overclocking features, solid 16-phase VRM, four DDR3 slots and three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (x8/x4/x4 or x8/x8 modes). It also lacks SATA-Express slot but features eight SATA 6Gbps ports and an M.2 slot.
The rest of the features include shielded on board audio with 100+ dBA SNR DAC, external headphone amp circuit, audio-grade capacitors while networking is taken care by Broadcom's Killer E2205 Gigabit NIC and Intel's 802.11ac WiFi as well as Bluetooth 4.0. Aforementioned overclocking features include POST LED display, voltage measuring points, on board Power, Reset, and OC Genie buttons.
The entire motherboard follows MSI's Gaming series color scheme with black with red accents. Although MSI did not announce any details regarding the price or the availability date, we expect this one to show up pretty soon but the price could end up over US $200.
