HTC has now officially unveiled the new HTC One mini 2 smartphone which will feature some design elements from the recently unveiled flagship, the HTC One M8, and which has grown in size compared to earlier available HTC One mini.
Based around a 4.5-inch 720p display, which leaves it with 326ppi of pixel density, the HTC One mini 2 is now slightly larger than the predecessor and measure 137x65x10.6mm. It features a curved rear design and weighs 137g. The heart of the new HTC One mini 2 is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 400 chipset with 1.2GHz clocked quad-core CPU paired up with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It also feature 16GB of internal storage which can be expandable via microSD card slot.
While it does feature front dual BoomSound speakers, the HTC One mini 2 does not feature the UltraPixel rear camera but rather sticks to standard 13-megapixel one with BSI sensor and F/2.2 lens. It also comes with a front 5-megapixel camera which should be enough for selfies and both of them can record 1080p video.
As far as the connectivity goes, the HTC One mini 2 offers LTE as well as GPS, NFC, dual-band 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0 port. According to HTC, the One mini 2 has a battery life of 16 hours talk-time thanks to its 2,100mAh battery.
According to early info, the HTC One mini 2 should be available in Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold color options but the price still remains unknown. The original HTC One mini was priced at around US $380 so we expect the new one to land at that price point as well.
