According to a report from Bloomber, it appears that Microsoft will end its relationship with Nvidia, at least when it comes to Surface and Tegra chips as the company has apparently switched to Qualcomm chips for its upcoming Surface Mini tablet.
Microsoft is expected to unveil its new Surface Mini tablet at the event scheduled for May 20th, and while some models might be based on Intel chips, according to Bloomberg, the main star will be based on Qualcomm chip.
While this will be a hard blow for Nvidia, Qualcomm certainly has it easy as its chips have found its way in most, if not all, flagship smartphones and is currently the cream of the crop when it comes to smartphone/tablet SoCs.
According to earlier rumors, the Surface Mini might be based on a smaller 7.5-inch screen which should put it in direct competition with the Apple's iPad Mini and the Google's Nexus 7 tablets.
