Sony's next-generation gaming console, the Playstation 4, has now officially passed 7 million units last week. Sony also noted that it managed to do great with Playstation 4 software sales and has definitely managed to leave the Xbox One way behind.
According to Sony Computer Entertainment, the global sales of Playstation 4 have managed to pass 7 million units as of April 6th. The Playstation 4 software sales are not doing bad either with 20.5 million, in both digital and retail form, while users have made more than 135 million shares with Dual Shock 4's new share button and make 4.9 million gameplay broadcast via Twitch and UStream and score over 90 million viewing sessions.
The SCE President and Group CEO, Andrew House said, "The response from the global gaming community for PS4 has been overwhelming and we are truly humbled that gamers are selecting PS4 as their next generation console of choice. The PS4 journey has just begun, and although we are still facing difficulties keeping up with the strong demand worldwide, we remain steadfast in our commitment to meet the needs of our customers, and surpassing the wildest expectations of gamers by delivering new user experiences that inspire and engage. We look forward to unveiling many of these experiences to our fans in the coming months."
Sony also noted that it expects to reach a total of 120 Playstation 4 games this year including some big titles like the Destiny, The Elder Scrolls Online, NBA 2K15, Watch Dogs and more.
Sony managed to score a big win with Playstation 4 over Microsoft and its Xbox One and the last information regarding Xbox One sales was at 3.9 million worldwide announced back in January.
