HIS, also known as the Hightech Information System, has announced its own HIS R9 295X2 Liquid Cooler graphics card which is basically a reference design AMD Radeon R9 295X2 with a rather fancy name.
Based on two fully enabled Hawaii XT GPUs, the new HIS R9 295X2 Liquid Cooler packs 2816 Stream Processors per GPU, a total of 8GB of GDDR5 memory (4GB per GPU) paired up with a dual 512-bit memory interface. Each of the GPUs work at up to 1018MHz while 8GB of GDDR5 memory ends up clocked at 5.0GHz.
Since it is based on AMD's reference design, HIS' R9 295X2 Liquid Cooler features a hybrid liquid+air cooler co-developed by AMD and Asetek and called the Project Hydra. It features waterblock/pump for each GPU, connected to a 120mm radiator as well as a single 92mm fan which takes care of the VRM, memory and the PLX bridge chip.
According to HIS, the new HIS R9 295X2 Liquid Cooler graphics card will be available on Newegg.com as of April 21st with a price tag set at US $1,499.
