Toshiba has announced that it has introduced the world's fastest microSD memory cards with UHS Speed Class 3 (U3), which will allow high-quality 4K video capture at constant minimum write speeds of 30MB/s and be available in 32 and 64GB capacities.
As noted, the new Toshiba UHD U3 class microSD memory cards will be available in 32 and 64GB capacities and offer maximum transfer speeds of 260MB/s for read and 240MB/s for write on the 32GB model, while the 64GB model will have somewhat slower maximum transfer speeds of 145MB/s for read and 130MB/s for write.
These new microSD memory cards from Toshiba will bring reduced time required to download large data movie or music files to various devices as well as enable cameras to shoot high resolution digital still images in a continuous high speed shooting mode.
Unfortunately, Toshiba did not reveal any details regarding the actual availability date or the price but did note that it has started to distribute first samples to several manufacturers so hopefully we will see those in retail/e-tail pretty soon.
