North American owners of the ASUS VG248QE monitor can rejoice as apparently the Nvidia G-Sync upgrade kit for that monitor is now widely available on Newegg.com, Newegg.ca, Tigerdirect and BestBuy for around US $200.
The Nvidia G-Sync DIY kit for the VG248QE comes directly from Nvidia and actually voids the warranty which is quite a surprise considering that this is not exactly a cheap monitor. According to ASUS, the warranty is voided regardless if the fault is directly related to the DIY G-Sync module or not so those looking for an easier way will wait for a couple of months until the ROG Swift PG278Q G-Sync monitor becomes available.
Nvidia also launched a video at YouTube as a manual for Nvidia G-Sync DIY Kit installation so you might want to check that one closely in case you go for it.
