Nvidia updates Geforce 820M mobile GPU spec list

Might be the first Maxwell chip?

While there have been some rumors regarding both Nvidia's upcoming mobile lineup which should end up as a simple rebrand of old mobile GPUs, including the flagship GTX 880M, it appears that this will not be the case with entry-level mobile GPUs as the updated specification sheet for the Geforce 820M suggest that Nvidia might switch this one from Fermi to Maxwell architecture.

While originally based on the GF117 Fermi-based chip, the new Geforce 820M specification list suggest that it will be based on the GM117 GPU instead as it comes with support for DirectX 11.2 and OpenGL 4.4. Of course, Nvidia did not reveal any precise specifications and it could simply been an error from someone that filled the specification list.

Since there are a few notebooks already listed with the Geforce 820M, it is quite unlikely that we are looking at the Maxwell GPU Nvidia could also update it when Maxwell becomes available. According to Heise.de, the Geforce 820M is still based on old Fermi GF117 GPU and it support DirectX 11 and not DirectX 11.2 as showed in the specification list.
