During Intel Developer Conference 2013, Asus decided to announce a couple of new products including the Transformer Book T100 and the Transformer Book Trio, both unveiled by Asus' Chairman Jonney Shih and Tom Kilroy, Intel's Vice President. The Transformer Book T100 10.1-inch ultraportable is the perfect transformation of the Eee PC that will allow users to pick between tablet and notebook model almost instantly while the Transformer Book Trio 11.6-incher will add the desktop PC mode to it.
As noted, the Transformer Book T100 is based on a 10.1-inch IPS multitouch screen and power by Intel's new Bay Trail-T Z3740 quad-core Atom CPU that should allow it "smooth multi-tasking performance as well as up to 11 hours of battery life", according to Asus. The keyboard dock features precision-engineered keys as well as multi-touch touchpad for Windows 8.1 gesture support. Asus will also have a larger T300 version based on a 13.3-inch full HD IPS screen that can act as a standalone Windows 8 tablet and will be power by a 4th generation Intel Core CPU.
The Transformer Book Trio is based on a 11.6-inch full HD IPS screen and also powered by a 4th generation Intel Core CPU. It runs on both Android 4.2 and Windows 8 when docked while it runs on Android in it is tablet mode. The tablet itself is based on its own Intel Atom dual-core CPU while the dock itself will be based on some sort of 4th generation Intel Core CPU. When in docked mode, it can switch between Android 4.2 and Windows 8 OS via dedicated Trio key and it can also share data between two operating systems.
The Transformer Book Trio's PC Station can also be used without the tablet as it has an external display outputs.
According to Asus, the Transformer Book T100 should hit retail/e-tail soon with a suggested price tag of US $349 for the 32GB version and US $399 for the 64GB one. Unfortunately, Asus did not shed any light on the Transformer Book Trio so we will have to wait a bit longer for it.
