As you already know, Intel's official launch of Ivy Bridge-E CPUs is just around the corner and it is not a surprise that we are starting to see some of the first "improved" motherboards precisely aimed to be used with the upcoming LGA 2011 CPUs, including the all new Asus X79 Deluxe.
Despite the fact that Ivy Bridge-E is backwards compatible with LGA 2011 socket Sandy Bridge-E motherboards (with just BIOS update) released earlier, this will not stop motherboard manufacturers to come up with new and updated designs for the new Intel HEDT platform. Earlier, we already saw the upcoming EVGA X79 Dark motherboard and today we get to have a first sneak peak at an updated version of the P9X79 Deluxe that will be simply called the Asus X79 Deluxe.
The new Asus X79 Deluxe uses gold/black color scheme that we previously seen on Asus' new Z87 lineup and comes with a couple of new features including PCI-Express 3.0, native SATA 6Gbps and earlier rumored SSD overclocking that Intel is scheduled to show at its Intel Developers Conference in San Francisco.
It also comes with eight DDR3 DIMM memory slots with support for up to 128GB of DDR3-1866 (2400MHz O.C.+) memory for some quad-channel action, Asus' Digi+ VRM with Dual Intelligent Processors 4 design for some additional overclocking potential, twelve SATA 6Gbps ports, four PCI-Express 3.0 x16 and two PCI-Express 3.0 x1 ports, Asus Wi-Fi Go, USB BIOS Flashback, USB 3.0 Boost, Gigabit Ethernet, overclocking friendly features and much more.
Of course, we will have to wait for the official Ivy Bridge-E launch scheduled for sometimes around 11th of September to see these motherboards in action.
