AMD teases Ryzen 7 2800X

Might pack 10C/20T

A few days ago, AMD has release the second generation of Ryzen processor alongside with a new series of motherboard. AMD has received a rather good feedback from customers and reviewers, according to some rumor the company might add another big chip.

At the moment AMD has the game locked tight since the Ryzen 7 2700X offers more cores and threads compared the Intel Core i7-8700K. Furthermore the price of the Ryzen chip is a bit better too. Since Intel might release a 8C/16T Coffee Lake chip with Intel Z390 chipset, we expect something similar from AMD as well. However AMD can't just increase the TDP and clock speeds of the Ryzen 7 2700X since it will not be enough.

Senior vice president at AMD, Jim Anderson has suggested that the company might unveil the Ryzen 7 2800X at a later stage, since AMD is waiting a move from Intel. The Red Team might unveil a 10C/20T chip at over 4GHz which could be enough for beat the upcoming Coffee Lake flagship chip. At the momente there are only speculations but we will keep an eye on it.
