A few days ago, NVIDIA has introduced the GeForce Partner Program (GPP), an initiative that should fill the gap between NVIDIA and the companies that produce add-in cards or system based on its technology. We heard that AIB partners were feeling the pressure with GPP although the program isn't mandatory for them.
It looks like that NVIDIA wants exclusivity over the most famous brand each AIB has to offer. In other words, the AMD series need to change name and it has to use a less important sub-brand. Videocardz has released a report that show few interesting aspects about ASUS. According to the source, the Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand will be only used on NVIDIA graphics cards in the future. AMD graphics will use a new sub-brand called AREZ.
In this way we will see a new series of graphics cards. For example we will not have "ROG RX580 Strix" or "AREZ ROG RX580 Strix", but most likely "AREZ RX580 Strix". This will be the same for the entire lineup like for the Dual, Phoenix and Expedition series of graphics cards from ASUS. We expect to see something similar as well as from Gigabyte and MSI.
