A slight upgrade from the current model

The ROG Crosshair VI Hero from ASUS has received a little upgrade regarding storage part and overall design. This new model sports the upcoming AMD X470 chipset and few interesting changes. Furthermore, it comes with WiFi 2.4/5GHz antennas like the Hero WiFi AC.

The Crosshair VII Hero is an ATX form-factor motherboard and there are your usual four DIMM slots, which you get in the case of a dual-channel memory interface. Apart from that there is the "Aura" feature, which allows you to change the illumination of the board from within Windows. There are also three full-sized PCIe slots and two of them feature metal-reinforcements. Between the first and the second full-sized PCIe slot there are two slots distance leaving plenty of room for graphics cards to breathe even in multi-GPU configurations.

On the storage side we see two M.2 slots, which support M.2 SSDs of the 22110 form factor meaning that the drives can measure up to 110 millimeters in length. One of the two slots sports an useful heat sink which will improve the temperature of your drive.

Furthermore there are six SATA 6Gbps ports and a USB 3.1 front panel connector. Looking for additional features we find onboard buttons and a debug display, support for USB 3.1, a high-quality power design and a good mix of connectors at the I/O panel.
