New AMD GPUs spotted in HWiNFO changelog

Ellesmere, Baffin and Greenland

It appears that AMD's next-generation GPUs, codename, Ellesmere, Baffin and Greenland, have entered the testing phase as all three have been recently spotted in HWiNFO changelog.

While these might be now based on different codenames, with AMD switching to constellation based codenames, it is believed that these are the Polaris 10 and Polaris 11 GPUs, recently unveiled by Raja Koduri, head of AMD's Radeon Technologies Group.

Greenland should the the flagship GPU based on new FinFET manufacturing process and feaures 2nd generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM2). The Ellesmere and Baffin could be based on the same GPU, and the difference could be that the one is based on HBM and other on GDDR5X memory, which is the recent rumor.

Another possibility is that the Ellesmere and Baffin are actually Polaris 10 and Polaris 11 GPU while Greenland will end up with a different codename, but for now it is all based on speculation and rumors so take it with a pinch of salt.

There is also a possibility that AMD simply did not reveal all the details regarding its upcoming Polaris GPUs so there might be more to it.

In any case, since these GPUs have showed up in the HWiNFO changelog, it is believed that these have now entered the final testing phase so we are quite sure we will hear a lot more about them soon.
