Futuremark has released the newest update for the popular PCMark 8 benchmark application pushing it to version v2.6.512 and providing changes in Adobe After Effects as well as bringing better NVMe SSD support.
Since this is a major update for PCMark 8 it will also affect the scores, which means that the results optained with the new version are not comparable to the older versions of the PCMark 8. According to Futuremark, the Home, Creative and Work benchmark are not affected and can be compared to earlier versions.
According to the release notes, the Adobe Applications benchmark has been updated to version 2.0 and the After Effects test output has been changed to uncompressed AVI format as the Adobe After Effects CC no longer supports output to compressed Windows Media Video format. As far as storage benchmark is concerned, Futuremark has added better support for NVMe SSDs and some scores will improve in some cases.
In addition to the new updated Adobe Applications and Storage benchmarks, the new version of the PCMark 8 also improve general stability and error handling as well as fixes a couple of bugs found in the earlier versions of the application.
