Although it was already available for pre-order in Europe, the Samsung Gear VR headset is now available to buy in the UK, directly via Samsung Shop.
While the Samsung Gear VR was already available for pre-order in all the major countries in Europe for around €100 and scheduled to ship sometime early this month, it appears that it is already available to buy in the UK, at least according to Samsung.
Samsung's Gear VR can work with Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge and it is currently the most affordable VR solution available, at least if you don't count Google's Cardboard thingy.
Samsung
has also launched a new optimized web browser for Gear VR, which allows users to try out a variety of online content described by Samsung as the "Internet for VR." The content includes 360-degree and 3D video streaming, including any HTML5 video and includes voice recognition and Gaze Mode menu selections as well as supports most if not all software from Oculus Store.
The Samsung Gear VR has been sold out in the US and now users in the UK can buy it directly from
the Samsung Shop UK for £80, while the rest of major retailers should have it in stock shortly, according to Samsung.
