It appears that Intel is definitely planning an update to its NUC (Next Unit of Computing) lineup as an updated version has been spotted over at Intel's website.
Judging from early details as well as pictures spotted over at Intel, the new version of the Intel NUC should be based on Core Broadwell processor, have smaller dimensions as well as feature some new connectivity, including DDR3L SO-DIMM slots, M.2 slots, mPCIe slot, an addition SATA 6Gbps port for more storage.
Previous rumors also suggested that Intel's upcoming Rock Canyon based NUC systems will feature both NFC, WiFi and Wireless Charging features as well as come with a replaceable lid.
It is highly likely that upcoming new generation of Intel NUC systems will be based on Core i3 and Core i5-5000 series Broadwell chips but so far Intel is keeping rather tight lid on it, since it does not want to reveal everything before the official announcement which will most likely happen during CES 2015 show in January.
