LG has now officially announced its new LG G3 Screen phablet which will be based on LG's first in-house SoC, octa-core NUCLUN based on ARM's big.LITTLE architecture.


Previously known as the Odin, LG's brand new NUCLUN chipset is based on ARM's big.LITTLE architecture and features four 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A15 high-performance cores paired up with four 1.2GHz clocked ARM Cortex-A7 cores for less power-hungry tasks. Unfortunately, we still do not know with what GPU LG decided to pair with these eight ARM CPU cores. The new NUCLUN SoC also features LTE-A connectivity with download speeds of up to 225Mbps.




As far as the LG G3 screen phablet is concerned, we are looking at a 5.9-inch 1080p IPS display based device with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card slot, 13-megapixel rear and 2.1-megapixel front camera, 3000mAh battery and the Android 4.4 KitKat OS. The precise dimensions of the LG G3 Screen are set at 157.8x 81.8x 9.5mm and it weighs 182g.




Unfortunately, it appears that the LG G3 Screen will be available in Korea, and it is still not clear if it will launch in the rest of the world.
