Showing that its investment in Nokia was not bad at all, Microsoft's latest financial report confirms that the company managed to sell 9.3 million Lumia smartphones during last quarter.
While Windows Phone is still obviously way behind the iOS and Android, 9.3 million Lumia smartphones are still a great results, especially considering that it managed to sell just 5.8 million during the previous quarter. This allowed Microsoft to score US $2.6 billion in revenue from phone hardware during last quarter.
With the rising sales of Surface tablets, with revenue of US $908 million, Microsoft was able to beat all analysts estimates and report a record Q1 FY 2015 quarter with revenue of US $23.20 billion.
