MSI has announced that one of its newest motherboards based on Intel's X99 Express chipset, the MSI X99S XPower AC, was a part of the hardware setup that managed to break the 3DMark Fire Strike world record by scoring a rather incredible 40052 marks paired up with 4-way MSI GTX 980 Gaming 4G graphics cards and thanks to 8 Pack from OC UK and Pepinorang overclockers.
Cooled down by a bunch of LN2, and packing some neat features like the new OC Backplate, which allows overclockers to mount their LN2 pot, as well as the Delid Die Guard, which makes mounting a cooling solution easier, safer and to help squeeze every last MHz out of the a delidded CPU and bunch of other features, MSI has become the first manufacturer that went over 40000 marks in 3DMark Fire Strike.
In addition to breaking the 3DMark Fire Strike world record by scoring 40052 marks, same MSI X99S XPower AC motherboard also managed to get some impressive 3DMark Vantage 109069 and 3DMark 11 44538 scores.
