Gigabyte launches R9 285 Windforce OC graphics card

Windforce 2X cooler and 950MHz GPU clock

Following AMD's official availability lunch of the Radeon R9 285 graphics card, Gigabyte has announced its newest factory-overclocked version of the same graphics card which will feature Gigabyte's well known Windforce 2X cooler, the Gigabyte R9 285 Windforce OC, GV-R9285WF2OC-2GD.

Based on already well known AMD Tonga GPU with 1792 Stream Processors and a 256-bit memory interface, Gigabyte's R9 285 Windforce OC graphics card features a factory-overclock of 950MHz while 2GB of memory ended up clocked at 5.6GHz.

Gigabyte also included a couple of exclusive features including gold-plated HDMI and DisplayPort outputs and, of course, its quite famous Windforce 2X Triangle-Cool heatsink. Usually paired up with performance-segment graphics cards, the Windforce 2X features two 100mm inclined fans which cool the hefty heatsink which is connected to the GPU via two pure copper heatpipes.

Unfortunately, Gigabyte did not reveal any details regarding the price of the new Gigabyte R9 285 Windforce OC graphics card but you can expect them on retail/e-tail shelves with a price tag of around US $249 / €249.
