Richard Stallman talks about free software

When you’re talking about free software, one of the most important name you should know, it’s Richard Stallman. When Stallman decides to take a microphone and talk about the importance of the free software in our society, we should all listen carefully.


Whether you like him or not, you can’t deny Richard Stallman is an interesting man, who is sure he can change world’s habits for the better. Stallman believes that the free software should be at the base of our society. Unfortunately, they are often criticized instead of being funded and appreciated.

During the TED event in Geneva, using some slides for the first time, Richard Stallman explained why our society should capitalize on the great number of free software. First of all, we should get rid of the preconcept that free software means it has no charge, which inevitably undermines their credibilità. Stallman believes that we could achive this with more communication, showing the undeniable benefits of free software.
