AMD announces new EA games with Mantle API support

All three powered by DICE Frostbite 3 engine

AMD has announced that Electronic Arts (EA) will now support Mantle API with three new games, including Battlefield Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquistion and the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.

According to AMD, these three new games, all powered by DICE's Frostbite 3 engine, will join the catalog of over 40 games that now support the AMD Mantle API.

"With more than 50 active developers now supporting Mantle, we're excited to see how quickly our team's vision has come to a critical mass," said Ritche Corpus, director of ISV gaming and alliances, AMD. "We launched our Mantle API with EA's Battlefield 4, and to see it expanding into more blockbuster titles from EA is very exciting."

While Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare is not a big excitement, the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition game as well as the Battlefield Hardline, which has started its beta phase recently, are definitely big titles.

In any case, AMD has made quite a push with Mantle API and it is surely here to stay, at least until Microsoft releases its DirectX 12, which is taking a similar route as the Mantle API.
