Following the release of the full cover water block for Nvidia's flagship GTX Titan Z, EK Water Blocks have now announced the release of yet another full cover water block, one that can be used with AMD's flagship dual-GPU Radeon R9 295X2.
Unlike the closed-loop cooling solution mounted on the reference Radeon R9 295X2, which was co-developed by AMD and Asetek, the EK-FC R9-295X2 is a complex design water block which directly cools the GPUs, RAM and the VRM part of the graphics card. It also features a very high flow design and can be used with weaker pump systems.
The base of the EK-FC R9-295X2 is made of bare or nickel-plated electrolytic copper, depending on the version, while the top is made of cast acrylic or POM Acetal, again depending on the version. It also comes with pre-installed brass standoffs as well as uses 0.7mm microchannel structure which should improve heat transfer without sacrificing the low hydraulic restriction design.
The EK-FC R9-295X2 is bundled with a single slot bracket which replaces the original two-slot and currently the only true single-slot R9 295X2 liquid solution on the market.
According to EK Water Blocks, up to four EK-FC R9-295X2 water blocks can be interconnected via EK-FC Terminal.
The EK-FC R9-295X2 will be available in four different versions, standard, Acetal, Nickel and Acetal+Nickel with price ranging from €169,95 to €186,95. EK Water Blocks will also offer an aesthetic retention back plate which will be available for €34,95.
