Several retailers have already started to list the upcoming Anniversary Edition Pentium as well as Devil's Canyon parts which are scheduled to officially launch in June. The list includes the Pentium G3258, which is an unlocked Anniversary Edition as well as Core i7-4790K and Core i5-4690K Devil's Canyon parts.
In case you missed them earlier, Devil's Canyon will be hand-picked Haswell chips which will have higher voltage limit, better packaging materials, high-current LGA contact points and improved thermal interface material (TIM) between the die and the integrated heatspreader (IHS).
The flagship Core i7-4790K is a quad-core CPU with Hyper-threading, which works at 4.1GHz base clock, 4.4GHz Turbo Boost, packs 8MB of L3 cache and has HD 4600 graphics part. The cheaper, Core i5-4690K is still a quad-core chip but lacks Hyper-threading and works at 3.5GHz base and 3.9GHz Turbo Boost clocks and has 6MB of L3 cache. Since these are part of Intel's K-series, both chips will have unlocked multiplier and support for higher memory clocks.
The last but not the least is a budget Anniversary Edition Pentium G3258 chip which also has an unlocked multiplier. The dual-core Pentium G3258 is also based on Intel's Haswell architecture, lacks support for Hyper-threading, Turbo Boost and some instruction-sets. The Pentium G3258 works at 3.2GHZ base clock and packs 3MB of L3 cache.
The flagship Core i7-4790K is currently listed at around US $370 while the Core i5-4690K goes for around US $250. The Pentium G3258 on the other hand is priced at US $80, which makes it a great candidate for smaller rigs.
