Cougar is a company founded back in 2007 by a group of enthusiastic and professional people, and it aims to provide more stylish products to the gaming community. They started with a few PC cases and PSUs, and they are getting into the gaming peripherals market as well.
So far, they announced two new high-end peripherals, the Cougar 700M gaming mouse and the Cougar 700K gaming keyboard. The Cougar 700M mouse has already won the iF Award 2014, which is considered like an Oscar for the IT world, thanks to its innovating design and its great building quality. It features an aluminum structure which is kind of a chassis for other components and which can be moved around to give you the perfect feeling. The standard palm rest module can be replaced by a “Sport Mode” module, which is included in the bundle of the mouse. This particular structure ends up being very lightweight if you compare it to other gaming mice on the market. Inside the 700M we find an ADNS-9800 laser sensor that can go as high as 8200DPI which should ensure the best precision even in the most chaotic gaming situations as well as a built-in 32-bit ARM processor and 512Kb of memory. Cougar is also developing their own software, like UIX System, which combines Cougar peripherals into one single software, and Cougar Fusion, that allows Cougar peripherals to interact with each other.
Cougar is also about to release a new mechanical keyboard, the Cougar 700K. It features mechanical switches, and it targets MMO players. The body of the keyboard is made out of aluminum and plastic, and it definitely looks like a quality product.
Cougar is going to unveil these new high-end products during Computex 2014, but we already know that the MSRP for the 700M gaming mouse will end up at US $84.
