Zotac has unveiled its newest member of the ZBOX mini-PC lineup, the sphere shaped, Intel Core i5-4200U powered, Zotac ZBOX Sphere OI520.
Moving away from its standard box like shaped ZBOX systems or palm-sized ZBOX Nano ones, Zotac has now unveiled a rather neat looking Zotac ZBOX Sphere OI520, a first ZBOX Sphere mini-PC. As the name suggest, the ZBOX Sphere is based on a new case design and features Intel's 4th Generation Core i5-4200U 1.6GHz dual-core CPU working at 1.6GHz base clock with 2.6GHz Turbo Boost, 3MB of L2 cache and Intel HD Graphics 4400.
The rest of the specifications for the new ZBOX Sphere OI520 includes room for a 2.5-inch SATA 6Gbps standard HDD or SSD, an mSATA SSD, two DDR3L SO-DIMM memory slots with support for up to 16GB of DDR3-1600 memory, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, Gigabit Ethernet, integrated 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0, four USB 3.0 and three USB 2.0 ports and a card reader.
As it was the case with previous Zotac ZBOX mini-PCs, the ZBOX Sphere will also be available as a barebone or as a PLUS model with 4GB of DDR3 memory and a 500GB HDD.
Unfortunately, Zotac did not shed any light regarding the price or the availability date for the new Zotac ZBOX Sphere OI520 mini-PC but a quick check at our favorite price search engine reveals it listed and already available at €399 for barebone version and at €479 for the PLUS version, both at
