"Gaming" oriented features and looks

It appears that Gigabyte has finalized its latest G1.Killer series motherboard as we now have some of the first pictures of the upcoming G1.Gaming Z97 motherboard. Based on the new Intel Z97 Express chipset which will support the upcoming Haswell Refresh CPUs, the new G1.Gaming Z97 motherboard will be focused on the gaming community with both its design and the feature list.

The specification lists starts off with the 8-phase CPU VRM on the new G1.Gaming Z97 motherboard from Gigabyte draws power from 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS power connectors and it also features four DDR3 DIMM slots with support for up to 64GB of DDR3 memory in dual-channel mode, two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (x8/x8 mode), three PCI-Express 2.0 x1 slots and two standard PCI slots for dedicated audio card or whatever else you would want to plug in. It also comes with six SATA 6Gbps ports, one M.2 port, six USB 3.0 ports, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, 7.1-channel Creative Sound Core3D audio with replaceable OPAMPs as well as the Killer E2100 NIC.

While we still do not have the full list of features, it is obvious that the G1.Gaming Z97 is aimed at gamers rather than overclockers but should be top of the line motherboard, nevertheless.

Of course, we are still about three weeks away from the official launch of the Intel Z97 Express chipset so we guess we will wait a bit longer to see these new motherboard in action.
