As you probably already know, AMD's Hawaii GPUs tend to get quite hot and if you are a proud owner of MSI's R9 290X Lightning graphics card you might want to stay clear from AMD's Catalyst 14.3 Beta driver as it has a bug which disables certain fans and causes the graphics card to overheat under intensive GPU load.
According to the report from Wccftech and forum posts all around the net, the Catalyst 14.3 Beta driver disables side fans and locks the center fan at 30 percent. The MSI R9 290X Lightning already had a similar problem with Catalyst 14.2 Beta driver but while you could previously engage manual override in the MSI Afterburner or Catalyst Control Center, the manual override is not possible with Catalyst 14.3 Beta.
AMD has ben notified about the problem and we are quite sure that MSI is working on a solution as well, so you should watch for updates and in case you are rocking the R9 290X Lightning in your case, you might want to revert to older driver.
