Business customers who need a secure Windows XP after 8th of April, will be able to negotiate a special solution with Microsoft. Under certain circumstances, support by Microsoft can be extended but this is only possible, when there is for example a migration plan to a new version of Windows.
A few weeks ago, during this years CeBIT Microsoft haben been announcing, there will be absolutely no support at all for Windows XP after 8th of April. In this context it's surprising to hear there actually are ways to get ongoing support from Microsoft even after that date. It appears there are too many customers still using Windows XP in productive and mission critical environments.
Today Microsoft is offering companies ongoing support for Windows XP even after the 8th of April. In this case the software giant requires a migration plan from its customer, which basically means Microsoft is helping the company during the transition phase. Towards the press or the public Microsofts lips are sealed on this matter especially when it comes to pricing. So far no details on this matter have leaked.
