Gmail encrypts your messages

HTTPS is now required

Google Gmail service went a step further in security by changing the way the e-mails are circulating between user devices and server messages.

There has already been a lot of talk regarding data security issues in the U.S. and it has been quite a sensitive topic recently and Google has decided to reassure users in its Gmail platform.

The HTTPS is available for Gmail since 2010 and it is now mandatory and adds security. Each message sent or received will now be encrypted. This will protect emails from being read by anyone, even if someone manage to pick them up while you surf on a public WiFi.

To further enhance security, encryption will be also set when emails are moved between Google's servers and data centers. On the other hand, there is still a question about the content which is analyzed by the Google itself.
