Apple Mac Pro now have 128GB RAM option

Thanks to new Transcend 32GB modules

Apple's bucket-style Mac Pro has definitely been an interest of many professionals and those that need a lot of RAM for their work will be happy to know that Mac Pro now has an option to have a total of 128GB of RAM, double the amount of previous limit.

While it was previously limited to 64GB of RAM, those that work with software like Final Cut for video editing can now have up to 128GB of RAM at their disposal thanks to Transcend's new 32GB memory modules.

The new Transcend 32GB DDRM3 RDIMM memory modules are 100 percent compatible with the new Mac Pro and, according to Transcend's Director of R&D Angus Wu "The new Mac Pro 2013 is advertised to support up to 64GB of memory, and we understand that pro users running applications that place high demands on RAM have a need to meet and most likely exceed this threshold. For this reason, we have developed and fully tested higher density modules to give users the option of raising their Mac Pro system memory to the advertised 64GB right up to 128GB."

Unfortunately, Transcend did not reveal any details regarding the price or the availability date for the new 32GB DDRM3 RDIMM modules and although these will be everything but cheap we doubt that professionals users running Mac Pro will have a problem with it.
