According to a fresh report from KitGuru.net, it appears that Intel might be releasing its Haswell-E processors a bit earlier than expected, or to be precise, during Computex 2014 show, scheduled to kick off on 3rd of June in Taipei.


The new platform will bring new Intel Core i7 Extreme CPU as well as the new X99 Express chipset. The Intel Haswell-E, judging by earlier rumors, will actually be the first Intel's desktop CPU with eight cores and since it will support Hyper-threading, it will end up with a total of 16 threads. The rest of the specs include 20MB of L3 cache, quad-channel DDR4 memory support, Turbo Boost 2 technology and 40 PCI-Express 3.0 lanes. Naturally, Haswell-E CPUs will be based on Intel's 22nm manufacturing process.

According to the same report, Intel's Haswell-E processors will be branded as the 5000-series and will be only compatible with the new X99 Express chipset with the LGA2011-3 socket. As it was the case with previous Intel Core Extreme CPUs, this one also targets enthusiasts and we are certainly looking forward to see what kind of high-end X99-based motherboards will manufacturer show during Computex.
