Plextor has announced that it will be bringing and unveiling its new M6 solid state drive lineup at the upcoming CeBIT 2014 show which should kick off in Hannover, Germany on 10th of March. The new Plextor M6 series SSD lineup will be available in 2.5-inch, mSATA and M.2 PCI-Express form-factors.


Although it has left all the juicy details for CeBIT show, Plextor did reveal that the M6S, a 2.5-inch member of the M6 lineup, will be available in capacities of up to 512GB and use Toshiba's 19nm Toggle NAND flash as well as offer sustained sequential read and write speeds of up to 520MB/s and 440MB/s while random read and write will be at 94k and 80k IOPS.

The Plextor M6M, a mSATA version of the M6 lineup, will be, according to Plextor, an ideal solution for any devices which require an SSD with a smaller footprint. To be also available in capacities of up to 512GB, the M6M will also offer read and write speeds of up to 520MB/s and 440MB/s while random 4k performance will be set at the same 94k and 80k IOPS for read and write.

The last, but definitely not the least, is the M6e, a PCI-Express version of the M6 lineup which should eliminate the performance bottleneck of the SATA 6Gbps interface and offering sequential read and write performance of up to 770MB/s and 625MB/s. The random 4k read and write performance will be at up to 105,000 and 100,000 IOPS. The M6e will also be automatically recognized as an AHCI device and also be available in capacities of up to 512GB.

Unfortunately, Plextor has left the price and availability date information for a later date but we are sure we will hear more once CeBIT kicks off on March 10th.
