Intel releases new graphics driver

Brings Quick Sync to some Pentium, Celeron CPUs

Intel has released its new set of graphics drivers which will bring support for Quick Sync on some Pentium and Celeron chips, as well as fix certain bugs and add certain new features.

In addition to the Quick Sync hardware-accelerated video transcoding for some Pentium and Celeron chips, the new Intel graphics driver also brings some quality improvements for video conferencing and video capturing usages, brings custom display resolutions that can be added via "Graphics Options" menu, brings quality improvements for OpenGL based applications and adds certain OpenGL extensions. The new driver also brings a couple of bug fixes which are mostly focused on Windows 8.1, although there are some tied to the Windows 7 as well.

As far as the Quick Sync support is concerned, according to Intel's release notes, the Quick Sync will now be available on Intel Pentium 3558U, 3561Y, G3220, G3220T, G3320TE, G3420, G3420T, and the G3430 with Intel HD Graphics as well as Intel Celeron 2957U, 2961Y, 2981U, G1820, G1820T, G1820TE and the G1830 with Intel HD Graphics.
