Valve is working hard these days, especially when their latest brainchild Steam OS is involved. Since the release of the Beta the company has added support for AMD graphics cards, since initially only NVIDIA GPU's were supported. Now Valve annouces, that Steam OS, which is based on Debian Linux 7 Wheezey, can also be installe don non UEFI systems.
Since the Beta version of Steam OS has been launched, tech news portals around the globe are reporting on almost a regular basis about Valve's latest achievements. The next reason for yet another news it the fact, that Steam OS can now also be installed on non UEFI systems.
Meanwhile Valve has readied an ISO of Steam OS, which can be burnt on a DVD. This then allows for installations on non UEFI computers. Until today it was only possible to install Steam OS on UEFI compatible setups via a USB stick. Apparently you can also use the DVD to install Steam OS on computer that supports UEFI. Apart from that the routine enables you to setup a dual-boot configuration.
Valve is adding, that the ISO is still in den experimental phase these days. We recommend to not try Steam OS on a productive System, for that we would wait for the final release.
