HP pushes Windows 7 on it systems

"Back by popular demand"

While Microsoft is doing everything it can to push users to Windows 8.1, HP has taken a rather different approach by heavily promoting the Windows 7 OS, offering up to US $150 discount.

The "Back by popular demand" promotion aimed at those looking to run Windows 7 rather than the new and shiny Windows 8.1 is probably a very smart move from HP as usually those options are limited to business users and rarely come with home and home office systems.

As far as we know, HP is the only OEM which promotes the sale of new Windows 7 based systems and while there are some other options, US $150 discount on HP's "Back by popular demand" promotion certainly sounds appealing.

Microsoft has previously announced that new retail sales of Windows 7 OS have ceased on October 30th, 2013, while sales of PC systems with pre-installed Windows 7 OS still do not have a specific end date.
