MSI launches new GX70 and GX60 Destroyer notebooks

Built for gaming

MSI has launched two new members of its gaming notebook lineup, the GX70 Destroyer and the GX60 Destroyer. Based on 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch screens, both new notebooks are based on AMD's A10-5750M quad-core Richland APU and AMD's R9-M290X 2GB working in tandem with the HD 8650G graphics card inside the APU.

With AMD's A10-5750M and its HD 8650G graphics inside the APU as well as the R9-M290X, both the new GX70 and the GX60 also support the 3-screen Eyefinity. According to MSI, both new notebooks should be able to offer the best price to performance ratio when compared to any gaming notebook and it appears that those specifications are enough to get it over P5100 in 3DMark 11.

The rest of the specs include up to 16GB of DDR3-1600 memory in two DIMM slots, the aforementioned 15.6-inch 1920x1080 on the GX60 Destroyer and a 17.3-inch 1920x1080 screen on the GX70 Destroyer, support for one SSD and one HDD, mini DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI and VGA outputs, three USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port, SD card reader, 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Killer Gaming LAN for connectivity, HD webcam as well as MSI's backlit "keyboard by Steelseries", Cooler Boost and Audio Boost features.

Both models also feature a 9-cell 7800mAh battery and should, according to MSI, provide over 30 FPS at Ultra settings in Battlefield 4.

Unfortunately, MSI did not reveal any details regarding the price or the actual availability date of the new MSI GX70 Destroyer and GX60 Destroyer notebooks, most likely since the price will heavily depend on the SKU configuration.
