Futuremark has announced that its popular benchmarking tool, the PCMark 8, will now be available for download and buy at Steam. According to Futuremark, the PCMark 8 combines performance benchmarking, battery life testing, a dedicated benchmark for SSDs and HDDs, and real-world tests using popular applications from Adobe and Microsoft.
Featuring five benchmark sets, each designed around a typical use scenario, the PCMark 8 is capable of providing results for entire PC or just a specific Home, Creative or Work scenario. Available in two versions, standard and Basic Edition, the PCMark 8 will be available at 25-percent lower price tag from Steam for a limited time and include all five tests plus battery life test, hardware monitoring graphics and automatic online result saving.
Futuremark also released a minor update for PCMark Professional Edition that will not affect previous benchmark scores.
