Now that AMD has finally and officially unveiled its new Volcanic Islands Rx-2xx series graphics cards, MSI released a teaser of what we can expect from them in a near future. Judging by the teaser we will definitely see a couple of custom graphics cards, at least if and when AMD gives a green light for such designs.
The teaser does not show that much other than we will see a Gaming Series custom graphics cards as well as, at least judging from the color scheme, a HAWK series. Of course, MSI still has to shed some light on which graphics cards will be released as custom designs with TwinFrozr IV cooler but we guess we will find out soon enough.
AMD did not announce a lot of information regarding its Rx-2xx lineup and we still do not have specific information regarding its R9-290X flagship, but judging from what we heard and seen last night, at least some upcoming Rx-2xx graphics cards will be tweaked rebrands rather than new GPUs based on GCN 2.0 architecture so it is quite logical that partners will be allowed to do custom solutions with those cards.
As for the R9-290X, we are pretty sure that partners will have to stick with reference design as, according to our sources, they are yet to receive any details regarding it.
