GTA 5 sales more than $1 billion in three days

That is the way to sell the game

Take-Two announced that Grand Theft Auto 5 has achieved worldwide retail sales of more that US $1 billion during its first three days of sale and reaching earlier estimates in less time than anyone could have hoped or even guessed.

According to internal estimates from the company, GTA 5 hit US $800 on its first day and quickly reached US $1 billion over three days and currently holds the record for biggest UK game launch and most likely it will break a few more records as well. Earlier this month there have been details that Rockstar and Take-Two managed to spend around US $270 million to make and market the GTA 5 game and get close to budget of some high-end Hollywood movies, but incredibly reviews and general feel for the game pushed the sales even further.

The GTA 5 is most likely one of the biggest titles that will end this year despite the fact that we will see some big games from EA including FIFA 2013 as well as Battlefield 4, but it is highly unlikely that these will even manage to touch GTA 5 and its US $1 billion in three days.
