Linksys announces new 802.11ac WiFi router

The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi AC1900 router

During IFA 2013 event held in Berlin, Germany, Linksys unveiled its new top of the line Linksys Smart Wi-Fi AC1900 router. Offering speeds of up to 600Mbps to Wireless-N clients as well as up to 1300Mbps for Wireless-AC ones, the new Linksys Smart Wi-Fi AC1900 router will be joined by an entry-level AC-router as well as the AC USB-adapter that will bring older notebooks and desktop computers up to the current and latest standard.

The Linksys Smart Wi-Fi AC1900 router features a powerful 800MHz dual-core processor that should cope well with either 600Mbps or 1300Mbps as well as a maximum possible amount of clients. Features USB 3.0 port for storage media sharing, three removable external dipole antennae for maximum flexibility and even supports the free Linksys Smart Wi-Fi App for iOS or Android that will get you access to your home network from anywhere, at any time. Includes guest access, parental controls, and apps that make home networking easier and fun.

The entry-level Linksys Smart Wi-Fi AC900 router supports speeds of up to 867Mbps with 801.11ac clients, also feature USB 3.0 port and also supports Linksys Smart Wi-Fi App for iOS or Android.

The last but not the least is the Linksys Wireless-AC USB adapter that will bring older notebooks and desktop computers to latest Wireless-AC standard and offer speeds of up to 867Mbps on the 5GHz band and up to 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band.

The entry-level Linksys Smart Wi-Fi AC900 router and the Linksys Wireless-AC USB adapter will be available as of today with price set at €119 and €59, while the top-end Linksys Smart Wi-Fi AC1900 router is planned to be available in stores in October with a €229 price tag.
