7mm thick MQ01ACF series
Toshiba has announced that it will be expanding its 2.5-inch hard disc drives (HDDs) line with the new 7mm 7278RPM MQ01ACF series HDDs that will be available in capacities of up to 500GB. The new MQ01ACF series is expected to start shipping on 30th of August.
The new MQ01ACF series are Toshiba's first 7287RPM HDDs that come in a 2.5-inch 7mm form factor. It will be available in 320GB MQ01ACF032 and 500GB MQ01ACF050 model versions and feature a maximum transfer rate of up to 1850Mbit/s thanks to linear recording density and the 7278RPM platter rotational speed.
The new MQ01ACF series is based on SATA 6Gbps interface and provide higher transfer speed when compared to currently available models.
As expected, Toshiba is targeting notebooks and ultra-thin notebooks, especially high-end segments due to high transfer speeds of the new series.
